There is no doubt about it. Andy Peloquin knows how to string words together and paint a scene. Though the world of Darkblade is grim, gruesome, gory, and even grotesque at times, Andy paints the world vividly.

Book 1 follows the Hunter of Voramis. He has little memory of who he really is, his mind having been tainted by an ancient dagger that thirsts for blood and calls for it in his mind.

Those that know me, know I'm kind of a vibe reader, so let me lay out some vibes.

Dark and gritty, old school Frank Miller Batman vibes. Voramis is gritty like Gotham. The Hunter plays the role of a dark "hero."

If this sound like the vibe you want to read, it might be right up your alley.

Warning: Swearing, graphic violence.
